In season, never forced
We design around what's at its peak this week, not a fixed catalogue. It means the work changes with the year — fresher, longer-lasting, and honest about where it comes from.
Cut in season, every timeAbout the studio · Brooklyn, NY
Marguerite & Fern is a small, owner-led floral design studio in Prospect Heights — plant-obsessed and built on one stubborn idea: a flower should look like it just came out of the ground.
That bigger isn't better, that fresher always wins, and that nobody should settle for the same ten stems flown in from the other side of the world. So we built the floral studio we wanted to buy from — and pointed it at Brooklyn.
See what we makeMarguerite & Fern is named for two plants we keep coming back to — the marguerite daisy, bright and generous, and the fern, quiet and structural. That balance of show and restraint is the thing we chase in every arrangement we make.
We began the way a lot of good things in Brooklyn begin: a folding table, a few buckets, and a Saturday market. People kept asking where the flowers came from and why they lasted. The honest answers — local, in season, cut that week — became the whole business.
Today the studio lives on Bergen Street, a short walk from the park. We source from regional growers we actually know, design at the bench, and hand-deliver across the borough six days a week. Nothing leaves in a shipping box.
We're a small, owner-led team — the designers who answer your email are the ones holding the shears. No middle layer, no upsell scripts. Just a real conversation about your room, your week, or your big day, and flowers made to fit it.
A few principles we won't bend on — they shape what we buy, how we build, and what lands on your table.

The bench on Bergen Street
We buy from regional growers in our network whenever the season allows, so stems travel hours instead of continents. Better for the flower, better for the people who grew it.
Local growers we know by nameWe arrange so it looks like it grew that way — a little wild, a little asymmetric, never stiff. Bold when the room can take it, quiet when it can't. Every stem has to earn its place.
Designed to your light & tableWalking into the studio felt like stepping into someone's garden mid-bloom — and the flowers they sent home felt exactly that alive.— Priya, weekly blooms member
